myRete Adds Free Multimedia File Delivery to WhosHere

San Mateo, California - 23 September 2008 - WhosHere 0.98 by myRete is now available for free download on the Apple iTunes App Store. Very much like Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), WhosHere 0.98 now offers the ability to send picture files to other WhosHere users free of charge. Sending images is just one of five new features added to WhosHere's latest version. myRete launched WhosHere in late July and already has more than 56,000 users in over 50 countries.

"We are thrilled to announce that WhosHere allows users to send 10 free images a day to iPhone and iPod touch users. We know MMS is something that the iPhone user community has really desired," said Stephen Smith, co-founder of myRete. "While this is not out right MMS, it does put multimedia messaging into the hands of the million of iPhone and iPod touch users. All that a user has to do to take advantage of this is download WhosHere."

New features to WhosHere 0.98 include:

  • First release of the WhosHere multimedia server. In its first iteration, the WhosHere multimedia server support sending pictures to any WhosHere user. Users can send up to ten MMS images a day for no fee. This is in addition to the free text messaging already provided in WhosHere.
  • The ability to remove profiles from your Chats history screen
  • Time stamps on text and picture messages are now included
  • Support for hundreds of international characters
  • Faster loading of profiles and pictures
This proximity networking application for the iPhone 3G, iPhone and iPod Touch enables users to create profiles and meet users with similar interests while avoiding SMS fees. WhosHere also eliminates the need give out your phone number, email or IM address.

WhosHere 0.98 is social proximity application focused on enabling users to meet friends or potential dates through an exceptionally simple interface. Simply answer six questions about yourself and who you are interested in meeting and WhosHere will show you matches that are near you. It takes the chance out of the chance encounter! When you find someone you want to talk with, you can send unlimited, free text messages to them within the WhosHere application. And now, up to ten images per day also at no charge.
